Lots of Water!

Friday night we went to check out Gavins Point Dam near Yankton. There is alot of water coming through there!

The water boiled downstream for a long ways.

The parking lot was full! The sheriff and the corps of engineer had employee's out there directing traffic and keeping things safe. . . . . . .

. . . . . . .probably watching for adventuresome Hoogedoorn's to venture into dangerous territory : )

Happenings this Week

Pardon the many pictures today : ) I got a little camera happy this past week! Houston loves his Exer-saucer!

The cousins hanging out together with a little help from Ty . . . .

Tyler hadn't had a haircut for too long. . . . . It was quite a hair cut! done by Joni.

Ty started working for Hoogendoorn Const. last week. He is enjoying it, they are a fun group to work with. His muscles are a little sore and he has a few blisters but he loves it! He finally is over the wisdom tooth ordeal. He got double dry socket and had to have them re-packed 3 times- 2 weeks of tylenol w/codeine, ibuprofen and naproxin along with not being able to eat, so there's about 10 lbs less of Ty around these days.

Houston is such a joy to have around! He's almost always happy and smiling. He's really grabbing things now with his sticky little fingers.

Hanging out in the chair.

We got a new (to us) skiing boat this week. We can hardly wait to use it on our upcoming Lake Mary vacation. Us women, are dreaming about sunset cruises while the fishermen are crappie fishing in the evenings in the fishing boat! Greg is coming from Florida and Grandma Z plans to join us this year!-- I'm sure it will be lots of fun!

I just love the "green" of this June! We've had so much rain that everything is green, growing and lush.

Took this pic last night. Samuel has an amazing amount of suction. . . .look at that paacy mouth : )

Trevor and Houston hanging out this morning in their jammies.

May Family Night

We all got together in May a few days before Jason and Rachel and boys left to go back to Buffalo. Of course we had another feast!
Curt and Trev busy in the kitchen. . . . . . ..
Curt tickled our taste buds with a new flavor- grilled water fowl (that he personally bagged himself hee hee!- there's a story behind that.) He marinated it a couple days and then stuffed the breast with creme cheese and peppers, then wrapped it all in bacon and grilled it.

Also in the menu- grilled pork loin- done to perfection, by Chef Curt and his Jr. Chef Trev.

Scary! . . . . . . Curt with the electric knife in one hand and a beer in the other : )

Cousin buddies, Houston and Samuel

Dana and Joni are enjoying having babies together, sharing stories, comparing sleep patterns, eating habits, night feedings etc and marveling in the fact that both babies are soooooo content- unbelieveable!

Feeding time - - - - - -

Since Greg couldn't be with us we Skyped him and passed the laptop around so everyone could talk to him. He was in Georgia taking a paramedic course. He passed and is now a paramedic.

Gavin and Levi are so cute together : ) Gavin glady shared his snack with Levi.

We sure miss Jason and Rachel and the boys!

Memorial Ceremony in Sioux Center

While I always knew why we celebrated Memorial Day, I had never actually attended a Memorial Day ceremony until this year. It was very awesome! It sure stirs up a patriotic spirit. Jeremy participated in the ceremony this year and he's also doing some marching in parades, and participating is some funerals. He is the 4th veteran from the right.

Levi was there to witness Daddy shotting "his big gun."

THANK YOU to all who are serving our country or who have served in the past.
