What's New??

What's new?

Not much, expect it's hot hot hot!

 and dry dry dry!

Gene left today for the Hoogendoorn Bros. fly-in fishing trip. He came down with "the cold" on Saturday. Mine lasted a full two weeks . . . . hoping the brothers have a high tolerance for snot, snorking, hacking and coughing - hee hee. He was very excited for the trip and we hope they have a GREAT week! I would like to be a fly on the wall- would be very interesting.

Dana has a job interview at Sanford this week- hurray!! We're hoping it goes well and she gets the job. Brent is working temporarily for Hoogendoorn Const. They are settled into apartment living and both plan to start classes in the fall semester. Houston got a new look recently . . a new little boy haircut- soooo cute handsome!

Joni and Jeremy are packing up for the big move. They should be in the new house in a couple weeks.

Tyler is preparing to leave for basic training in mid August. He'll be gone for about 8 months. . . . will be very different around here. I'm sure we'll miss his presence :)

Trev's been hanging out in front of the computer screen most days. The poor kid is bored most days. It's not much fun being the youngest and hangin out with mom. He's looking forward to school starting and a social life.

Me, well I'm ready for the garage/business room project to begin- hopefully soon. Lots of changes coming up in the family. . . .I just hope for smooth transitions.

New York Visitors

Jason, Rachel and family came for their annual summer visit recently. One afternoon in the scorching heat the Spaans boys had fun jumping on the tramp with the sprinkler underneath.

It was quite a wild jumping delight!

Gavin and Levi hauled a bunch of toys across the yard and up onto the tramp. I didn't get a picture when they had all of them on there but it was pretty funny watching them hoist them up.

Wilson was a little scared of us early in the visit but warmed up soon. He's getting plenty of "Grandpa Love".

I think this age is the hardest part of grandbabies living 18 hrs away. We sure hate them to grow up without us :(

On Saturday, we went to the zoo in SF. Here's the Spaans boys- I don't know where Housy was hiding.

All 7 grandsons- it's just a split second in time. Posing for a picture is not something easy to do when you have ants in your pants. And no, the 2013 is not a mistake, it is a sticker on the window behind the boys- advertising something coming to the zoo in 2013.

We LOVE them all!!

Mother/Daughter Outing

Rachel and Jason and family were here for a visit recently. We met at Johnny Carino's for lunch one day- Just the daughters and I. We had a delicous "pastalicous" meal :) We had a pleasant time and the daughters got to eat out without wrangling with toddlers and babies. Our server was happy to take this picture of us.

Lake Mary (Part 3)

Trevor spent a lot of time in his kayak- fishing for bass in the shallow water by the reeds. He caught some pretty good sized bass!
One morning we had "Greg Hash". Greg made a breakfast like this last year. You pretty much add all the leftover veggies and meat from the frig and spice it up a bit and add a dozen eggs- Yum!

It was a pacy licking, bottle sucking week : )

Ok Ty, get a shirt on.

Grandma was a great help in the kitchen! She enjoyed her time with us and we love to have her come with us.

One day you could decorate a Westridge Shores t-shirt.

A little time of relaxation.

The annual lake picture.

This is the man cave. A fair amount of time was spent here by the males- doing what males do ?!

We had a good time at the lake and hope to do it again next year.
